Joe's Busy Weekend, 4/27/2020

So, like yesterday, they were selling chicken sliders this morning. And as one who doesn't like to pass up opportunities like this I swooped up on one, as well as eating more grapes than I should've. And the result:
I lost two pounds (150lbs. now), and my gut hasn't decreased at all (still 34.5"). I'm beginning to think I'm losing muscle. Gulp!

Decided to play some Grim Dawn today. And like usual I played my reaper guy, working on the Act 7 questline. Made some progress, but it seems like this is going to be a long slog. Feels like they made this act the longest in the whole game or something.

And the vinyl records I played this evening were:

This morning, after realizing I lost 3 pounds in 2 days with no change to gut size (ie. I might be losing muscle) I ate a couple protein bars at work last night hoping to curtail any muscle loss that might've occured, which seemed to pay off, as I lost another pound (149 now) but losing a quarter inch on my gut (34.25" now).



And also this morning after work, I got right into a workout since I have a three day weekend, which consisted of:

- Neck exercises. These are totally new to me, so I still have yet to get the hang of doing them. I tried doing them one time previously and couldn't make it work. This time, I used a 5lb bag of rice, as it fits my head a lot better than a barbell plate and is less unwieldy - for lack of a better word - than a neck harness. Necessity is the mother of invention!

- Cable crossovers. I think I went a little too heavy with this one, as it pretty much sapped me for the rest of the exercises. The rest of the exercises, except for the farmer's carry, I only did ~5 reps or so.

- Chest dips, using my kitchen sink, with my legs propped up on the kitchen counter, if you can visualize that.

- Sunrise-sunset. New exercise for me, so I'm still trying to figure this one out. I like it though.

- Rotating push-ups. Another new exercise for me, so this one is a work in progress.

- Incline bench hammer curls.

- Farmer's carry (20lbs. in each arm), doing a lap around all 3 floors of my apartment complex.

- Barbell rows. This one is tricky for me to do, as I have to avoid rererererere-injuring my rhomboid muscle in the process.




And I was going to play Grim Dawn today, but on a whim I tried to see if I could get Chrono Trigger up and running on my OBS again, which I finally managed to do. So, Chrono Trigger it was today! And I made it as far as when you first enter the future. But to me overall, it's a good but not great RPG, despite it being #1 on so many top 10/100/etc. lists. The super-appeal is lost on me. I'd probably stream this game in the future, but it'd be a low priority though.

Monday



A 22-hour fast this time, not even having a protein shake just before bed. I just had an additional one during yesterday's Chrono Trigger stream instead. And the result: No change in weight (still 149lbs.), but my gut went down another quarter-inch though (now 34").



And for this evening's FF XIV session it was dancer again, running about half of the hunts (with my paladin running the other half of them), the Pixie tribe quests, and a few roulettes, all of which went off without a hitch (although I'm still getting tanks that can't hold aggro, even when I'm doing basic attacks >:|>). And I actually gained two levels this time, reaching level 72. So, some good progress today!



And a pretty active session this time too, with a bunch of people, some regulars, some new, some I haven't seen in a long time, coming by and saying hi. So, lots of convo flowing around today, the kind I'd wish I'd get more often.

And I also level boosted my machinist and got him all set up. Practiced on him some and ran a dungeon as well. So, my verdict for him: I actually enjoyed dancer more than machinist, but I only played MCH one time, so I'll probably have to work on him some more someday. But either way, I think he'll just be "The class I level to 80."
