Pretty good Guild Wars 2 session today, despite my lack of sleep (sinus issues, due to changing weather). Again, it was all guardian. And I finally got her fully outfitted, and went out to practice on some world bosses. So far, I like it. I noticed that my build has a couple abilities that give a long-forgotten - my movement speed on my engineer is a passive 25% - buff: Swiftness (increases movement speed by 1/3, faster than anything in FF XIV, save mounts, according to this speed test). And with how my build is set up, which is this:

This basically doubles the durations on all outgoing buffs (the maximum bonus in gw2), which can also be further increased via armor enchants, basically making this a permenent buff (the duration is about as long as the cooldown after casting it). And the speed itself CAN ALSO be increased to 66%, which is about as fast as a basic ground mount in FF XIV (I think). With just this alone I can DEFINITELY see why the guardian class is the most popular class! I still don't like following the herd though, but then again you can't argue with success.

And here's the records I played today:

Roky Erickson - Gremlins Have Pictures
Buddy Rich - Big Band (sides 2 & 3, as sides 1 & 4 were missing when I bought this)
Motorhead - Overkill

Oh, and I also watched another Junji Ito story called "The Window Next Door". Pretty scary. Kinda reminds me of the window scenes in Salem's Lot, to this day the most scariest movie I've ever seen, especially as a kid.

Sunday

This was me when questing in Guild Wars 2 this morning lol.

Played gw2 offline for a while, playing my new guardian. Did a few quests, one of which I got lost in for about 15 minutes (I hate quests!). But otherwise I had a pretty good time. I even set the game to 60 fps and the graphics settings higher, since I wasn't streaming. WAAAY easier on the eyes!

And I also did another talking vid too (see below), although I don't think it came out as well, as my mind was unfocused at the time. It happens.

Real good Guild Wars 2 session today, if delayed somewhat. The original plan was to go fighting world bosses with my guardian right at the outset. But I suddenly realized that he doesn't have diddly-squat for inventory space! And I have no love for Inventory Management Puzzles. So I spent about an hour leveling up my guardian's crafting classes to where he can start making inventory bags. GOOD bags. 20-SLOT bags. And not the 4-slot shit you can get at the start of the game. I fight world bosses, so I'm going to need a lot of space for all the stuff they drop.

But I did manage to down some world bosses though, most of them in fact. And as much as I like this class (unlike my engineer I don't need to switch kits - aka modes - to access certain abilities; Everything I need is on one bar) I found one big downside though: For your main auto-attack you NEED to target something, which can be problematic because, tab-targeting. Whereas on my engineer NONE of my abilities require a target per se, they can all just be manually aimed.

And I managed to play some Footsies, which went pretty good. But after a while my skill decided to up and leave me, and ended up not playing for shit, so I just abandoned the game before I ragequit.

The records I played this evening were:

Heart - Little Queen
David Bowie - Self-Titled Debut
Thin Lizzy - Self-Titled Debut
The Residents - Eskimo

A not-as-good Guild Wars 2 session today. It was mostly my guardian. But instead of running world bosses, I decided to earn some hero points (aka upgrade points) instead. But it ended in disaster, as I had to do a few hard quests in order to unlock the ones worth getting (the nodes in vanilla content only give 1 point, and the ones in expansion content give 10), and even then unlocking these nodes are next to impossible without help. But they DO have what are called "HP trains", where people will party up and unlock these, but I often can't keep up with the group and end up getting left behind (in their defense, they do warn you beforehand that these are "fast" runs, and won't have time to go back for you if you get lost), so I'm pretty much on my own for these. God, I miss robean. :(>

But my long-term goal is to access an elite specialization of the guardian called a "firebrand", a spec that kinda works like the dancer's Fourfold Feathers and the scholar's Aetherflow in FF XIV, storing charges that can be used to execute various abilities. But, as stated above, it's going to be a long time until I can access this spec, so I'll just have to make do with what I got (Oh, and I forgot to mention: JUST TO UNLOCK AN ELITE SPEC, you need 30 hero points, and to unlock all of the firebrand's abilities you need 250 points, so just doing the easier vanilla nodes won't cut it).

But eventually I just tapped out on my guardian and went back to my engineer and downed a couple world bosses before shutting down and working on this blog post.

And here's the vinyls I played this time around:

Ween - God Ween Satan
John F. Kennedy, The Memorial Album
Rush - Carress of Steel (side one)

And aaaaaalrighty! Time to call it a night, everybody. <Take care.>, and have yourselves a great day/night.;)>
