M I R A G E (ft. Mishra Kagon)

Öffentlich
AN: Kaya Ejinn & Mishra Kagon, meeting for the first time.

===

Leaving Alphinaud to his devices, Kaya chose to make her way around Eulmore, for the first time stumped by the fact that she was somehow barred from attuning herself to its aetheryte.

A fancy place, rich not only with individuals but mere luxury, an Au Ra much like herself often hardly indulged in such, but perhaps there were Drahns that would. There was a line to be drawn, that the difference should be small, but it has changed the way the two races, yet not quite the same, developed their lifestyle between two different worlds.

The First and The Source.

Ever since arriving, Kaya found herself confused by the stillness in herself, perhaps to match with the constant brightness that haunted the place wherever she went.

Though, as she breathed in the air and found herself at the balcony, she looked out only to realise how similar it was to the place she started her journey at -- Limsa Lominsa.

There was a reason why she adored the place, the sight of the ocean being one.

“I don’t quite understand it yet… but it seems like this place is a reflection of Limsa, though that begs the question, is the Crystarium unique in the sense that it connects the Source to this world?”, she thought alone, as her brows furrowed and her eyes stared into the distance.

It wasn’t long before a presence caught her attention, fleeting, yet almost familiar.

“Strange…”, whispering to herself, she tried to tail the feeling -- like her senses amplified and she could feel the movement vibrate within the hollow of her horns. “No one has given me a feeling this strong as…”

Turning around, a gorgeous Au Ra--Drahn?--had caught her eyes, one whose pair of eyes were a bright purple, almost a glowing lavender.

No, she was definitely Au Ra, her clothing seemed very traditional, and she was more than comfortable to be donning such alien clothing in a place where everybody else oozed of wealth and greed.

“That’s quite the homely fashion taste you have there.”
“And you, seemingly lost.”

Kaya took a moment to study her movement, her grin unmoving, and her claws - deliberate. Power.
Power, power, power.

Someone who feigned coolness as her, was someone who sought power. Unfortunately for them, Kaya has no reason to make them feel as powerful as they wish, for they had no reason to seek her validation anyway.

Just as much as Kaya sought power, she had no one to prove but herself. This lady sought something, akin to perhaps survival, and to prove that she was better… somehow. The observant in Kaya is limited to only her scholarly knowledge, not the emotions, thoughts nor the psychological state of another being.

“Lost, but at least I know I don’t miss home. In that sense, your homesickness makes you more lost than I am,” Kaya retorted.

There was a slight sigh she could hear from the lady. Elegant, and yet so deliberate, like she was so assured of her position. It made her wonder if she came from the tribe - the tribe who has never seen light - but this one, this one was truly out of place.

Far too pale, yet accented with the darkest scales much like herself.

“Perhaps, but there will always be things to do. Strength to seek, consume, and this place works just as well as any to camouflage oneself.”
“Suit yourself. This place makes me sick, more so than the Steppe.”
“Aww, poor child can’t handle a little culture shock…”

The statement, although harmless at first sight, hooked a glare from Kaya. Though she had been far more mild in temperament since her arrival, albeit exhausted, this Au Ra was nearly capable of setting Kaya’s fire ablaze.

Not because it was an insult, but because Kaya had known herself to be a traveller, one who has adapted to the works of culture, and the one thing that sickened her to the core in Eulmore was purely the lavish lifestyle.

No matter.

The lady before her giggled, her clawed hand hovering over her lips as her eyes remained on Kaya. Spite sparked in the air between them, but there would be time.

“Mishra. From the Kagon tribe.”
“Kaya, from the Ejinn tribe.”

Some other time.
