Ho boi, I’ve been slacking these days, did I…? In terms of progress recap, that is.
Well, let’s get at it, shall we? I do have some news alongside some pleasant social interactions and evolutions.
Firs things first, the levels:
Slowly but surely, I’m advancing… And not too slowly either, I suppose.
As expected, tanks’ queues were a bit faster than DPS’, although not too much, weirdly enough: sometimes I got an instaqueue, sometimes I waited as much as a DPS. It’s really a gamble when it comes to tanks.
————— DoW/DoM —————My main goal for now is
bringing all Jobs to LV60 but Machinist, which I’m doing all roulettes with, since
I need/want a DPS to be LV79 every week so I can dump a whole level worth of Wondrous Tails on it, and MCH is the next DPS in line for that (that would be SMN, but, as usual, its leveling is tied to SCH’s, so I’m not considering it).
I currently am leveling Warrior, Dark Knight will be the next in line (it should've been the first, but oh well), then White Mage and finally Astrologian will follow. I’m pretty confident in being able to bring them all to 60 by tomorrow evening, unless I’m doing more than merely going for a haircut and lose hours over hours of progress.
What still worries me (as usual) is the abominably low daily Poetics gain (around 1000), which is way slower than my leveling up. I still own less than half the various Shire equipments, afterall, accessories included. At this rate, I’m going to need Scaevan gears before even having finished to buy Shire ones…
————— DoH/DoL —————Things aren’t exactly good. Rather, they’re
too good, which is disrupting my plans, unexpectedly: I expected DoH to level up via Collectables
way slower, but instead I literally do a level up every time I craft and turn in a Collectable. So much for the Scrips gain I calculated… I can’t even properly gear them up that I already am getting to the next tiering!
I do have the LV60 BiS accessories, but the left side is Job-restricted… Bruh. I’m not spending 6000+ Scrips just to have all of their LV60 BiS.
I’m thinking about simply
buying the LV60 BiS Tools for each Job, and not all the left pieces, keeping the HQ LV53 I currently possess instead, and
passively farm some Scrips as I level them up toward LV70 so I can buy out the
Handking gears for them all and be done with gearing up until LV80.
Fortunately, now that I have access to both Custom Deliveries and Collectables, the leveling process is really trivial and way too proficient not to tap… But I guess I should make better calculations the next time I go for a wild gathering run as I did yesterday, or I’m going to have a shitload of unused materials as leftovers… And my inventories are literally crying as of now.
What it concerns DoL, instead… That’s a whole another level of pain:
Heavensward’s Collectables are aborptions. Not only my LV30ish HQ gears couldn’t get me more than
two lowest collectability Collectables every Node when lucky (and one when unlucky) (although that was predictable, I guess), which meant an
insignificant and laughable amount of Scrips got, but also
there only are 3 out of 6 windows for the fucking Unspoiled Nodes to gather from in a whole Eorzean day, which means
there isn’t the chance to constantly go forward and back between the Nodes for a constant gain of Scrips, but instead there are 3 in a row, then 6 hours with
nothing to do.
This point alone is what drove me nuts while trying to gear up my DoL, almost more than Ocean Fishing’s times I never manage to catch to the point I just gave up and went into the Diadem instead.
I couldn’t manage to get many gears for them, although Custom Deliveries helped out, and now my BTN and MIN have their BiS and are only missing both heads and Tools (which I’m not sure I want to buy, since I’m considering to do just what I’m planning to do with DoH, meaning gathering SB’s Collectables (which will have a regular rotation unlike the HW ones), level DoL up as I turn them in, and start buying Landking gears as they approach LV70).
As for Fisher… I’ll just dedicate some hours of Diadem fishing for it someday, when I’ll have nothing else to do or be not be willing to press more than 2 buttons once every 30 seconds.
——————— Others ———————I admittedly stood awake and played more than I had to, yesterday… But in doing so, I had the chance to chitchat a bit in the Novice Network… Mostly with
Deimos Darkscale and
Blindme Cliffjumper. It’s been quite a fun and pleasant night, all in all. The latter, in particular, kept contacting me today as well as they asked me about the peculiar Blogs I write in here, interested in the story behind them.
They seem a quite amicable type of player, and they’re good as well, so all the better. They created a Linkshell for the two of us in particular, so that we could be in contact even during instances and to know each other more.
This reminded me of the very first days when I spoke to
Tofu, albeit Blind is more engaging and less shy than him 🤣 but if things keep going this way, I believe a nice friendship can be born from this, so I for sure won’t turn down the chance at making some friends for sure.
I also helped them out in unlocking Guildhests and getting their weekly Challenge Log out of them as well, and since they need/want to do their daily roulettes as well, just as me, I proposed to run them together from tomorrow on, and they seemed quite happy with it, as I am, of course. The more, the merrier, afterall.
A thing I’m now considering when I’ll get back to drawing and writing after being done with leveling Alis like a madlad is telling my story publicly somehow. It’s not finished yet, but it’s almost done, so that wouldn’t be a problem, but… The question is if I really am down to the challenge and, especially, how to do it.
The Jason experience left me quite scarred and destroyed my will to show my work publicly back then, but… I think it’s time to change that. But where to start? Where to write it down for everyone to read? How should I do it? Should I try at sketching some parts as well? Should I simply make a book out of it? A Blog? Is it worth the efforts? So many questions, so many worries, so much insecurity… I’ll have to make up my mind, but I’ll first patch the few plot holes born to some changes in the story and the detailing of the penultimate act of it before deciding how to proceed, and I’ll also try to gather some informations around. In worst case scenario, I can try to roughly summarize it for Blind like I did back then for some friends of mine, given their interest is pure and hopefully I won’t let them down.
A thing is for sure: I somehow want Mirror Destiny to be written down and published, preferably as a manga, but anything goes, as long as the work of love is given form. I wish I could make people think and perhaps give them an enjoyable and deep story to read, and I surely am not obtaining anything of the sort, as long as I’m the only one knowing the full extent of it…
One day… One day.
