IntroductionSo there doesn't seem to be a lot of love for monk this expansion. As I've read through various forums I've seen many people denounce the monk job. I still have a love for it even though it looks like I'll be forced to convert to Samurai for raiding purposes. I have raided as monk since ARR and I felt I needed to do my part to contribute. I'm not an expert at monk and I really can't claim this will be BIS but I'll be using it as my own gearing up purposes and hopefully helps some others as well.

So my thought's behind my opener is I want to get as many
the Forbidden Chakra's out during my Internal Release + Infusion of Strength Potion + Riddle of Fire buff window. With this opener, I've seen as high as 6000+ DPS (ilvl 313) but that was with everything giving a critical strike and with gathering chakra at a quick pace during a raid. I haven't calculated the average yet.
Some observations:Inconsistency of Chakra earned can be a little annoying. There have been times where my the Forbidden Chakra is still on it's 5 second cool down when it's ready for use again and times where I don't earn enough chakra for even one more tFC.
As far as stats go, it seems that direct hit is what we are suppose to go for but what i'd like to figure out is what's a good cap for critical hit. Also I think skill speed is more important than people give credit. A lot of our damage comes from auto attacks and yet the stat that determines the efficacy is being ignored in large by the community. Obviously more research needs be done. Will update this blog little by little over the coming weeks. Please feel free to comment on monk. Would love an open discussion on improving our job as it is currently.
