Caelum is an RP academy setting featuring a combination of slice-of-life and plot-driven RP. You can participate even if you're not in the FC!

The Academy stands as the shared vision of four noble houses of Ishgard bound by a common heritage: Roselune, Caelumont, Astralis, and Vesperaux, the Four Houses. It is a place where noble ideals meet public service. Though sponsored by these four houses, the Academy is not beholden to a single lineage. It is a neutral ground where students from all walks of life may train, grow, and contribute to the future of Ishgard and beyond. Within these walls, knowledge is treated with the same reverence as bloodlines, and discipline is tempered by curiosity.

The Assembly of Regents, the very heart of the Academy’s authority, shapes everything from academic standards to disciplinary policy. Each regent is selected for their wisdom, experience, or demonstrated excellence in service to the Academy. Together, they uphold the balance between the needs of the houses, the safety of the students, and the sanctity of Caelum’s greater purpose.

The Assembly has one major directive for Caelum's faculty and staff: to train students to become knights and recruit them into Caelestia Aegis, an elite knight order formed not under Caelum Academy, but in allegiance to the Four Houses themselves. Comprised of seasoned alumni, the Aegis operates on external missions such as field protection, reconnaissance, diplomacy, and enforcement beyond the walls. While they often cooperate with the Academy and its regents, they do not serve them. Their charge is older, broader, and bound to the Four Houses and Ishgard as a whole.

Caelum has several major features that set us apart from other communities. We spent hundreds of hours developing them, all to provide a novel, high-quality RP experience. Some major features are

• A wide variety of RP events: classes, student clubs, levequests, apprenticeships, hunts, and more
• Student houses and themed uniforms (House Phoenix, House Leviathan, House Garuda, and House Titan)
• Four schools: Combat, Magic, Arts and Sciences, and Medicine
• Semester system
• Student Council elections
• Character progression
• Custom, automated quest system
• Graduation and graduate missions
• An intricate, long-term narrative involving a political conflict between four noble houses of Ishgard
• Ceres, our custom software made specifically for Caelum to run all our systems, including our calendars, events, progression, quest parties, house assignments, character data, Student Council elections, and much more, its functions ever-expanding to adapt to user feedback and Caelum's vision for future content

The main narrative of Caelum gives people the sense that they are in a living, breathing world that is in constant flux. People's actions matter, and they can have deep consequences on the story.

From the school calendar and the Student Council to houses and character advancement, when we created this setting, we sought to create an RP environment that felt immersive, alive, and rewarding.
