[Folge-News]PlayStation®5 Login Issues (May 28)

I would like to explain the current situation regarding issues experienced in the PlayStation®5 version, whereby logging out in certain areas and attempting to log in with the same character results in the player being stuck on the loading screen, as well as instances of instability upon toggling to Japanese text input.

We were able to determine the causes of these two issues and are proceeding with caution as we address them. Additionally, we have applied the fixes to the development environment, and are continually inspecting to ensure that the issues are properly addressed and do not cause other irregularities.

Although we are prioritizing these two issues, additional time will be necessary for inspection due to the large scale of their impact. As a result, the Hotfix addressing the issues will be implemented sometime next week. Until then, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused for our users on the PlayStation®5 version.

With the timing of the Hotfix in mind, I would like to reiterate the following details.

【PlayStation®5 Users – Please be wary of the following when logging out】

The following areas have been confirmed to be causing login issues. We kindly ask that you refrain from logging out in the affected areas until the Hotfix is available.


■Affected Areas

・Rhalgr's Reach
・The Puppets' Bunker
・The Fractal Continuum (Hard)
・Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard)


■ Users who have logged out in Rhalgr’s Reach

If you are unable to log in after logging out in Rhalgr's Reach, restarting the PlayStation®5 console and launching FINAL FANTASY XIV will allow you to log in.
While we understand that following these steps may cause some inconvenience, they should provide an effective workaround. Upon logging in, we kindly ask you to refrain from logging out in Rhalgr's Reach and other affected areas.


■ Users who have logged out in other affected areas

If you are unable to log in after logging out in one of the affected areas listed above, restarting the PlayStation®5 console and launching FINAL FANTASY XIV may allow you to log in. However, we are currently aware that this may not work in some cases.

Additionally, users who have logged out in The Puppets' Bunker alliance raid dungeon, The Fractal Continuum (Hard), or Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard) will be able log in upon completion or failure of the duty.

If you are unable to log in after attempting the methods listed above, we kindly ask you to consider using the PlayStation®4 version via the PlayStation®5’s backward compatibility. These issues are exclusive to the PlayStation®5 version, and we have confirmed that users are able to log in using the PlayStation®4 version without issue.

If you are unable to use the PlayStation®4 version, please contact the Support Center through the URL below. Although we may require your time for this method, we will do our utmost and consider various solutions, such as individually altering your character’s status, in order to resolve the issue.

■ Users unable to toggle Japanese text input

Please try restarting the PlayStation®5 console and launching FINAL FANTASY XIV. As a precautionary measure, you may want to disconnect and reconnect your keyboard upon restarting.
The PlayStation®5 console can be restarted by selecting "Restart PS5" in the power menu.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by these issues on the PlayStation®5 version.
We will continually work to resolve these issues and greatly appreciate your continued patience and support.
