Born of a tryst between his Duskwight Elezen mother and Highlander Hyur father, Veniox is a man scorned by the ilk of Ishgard. Born of House d'Loire, one of the Lesser Houses of House Fortemps, Veniox has had an interest in adventuring, from the contact that he had with the many adventurers employed by House Fortemps and their bannermen.
Venoix excelled at study, and was quick to be appointed as a clerk to Haurchefant in his early adult life. His strength rested in his heavily analytical nature, therefore was easily able to go over Adventurer applications, and assign tasks as required. Despite the kindly nature of Haurchefant, and his companions, Venoix always felt as though there was a shadow hanging over his shoulder. The unwhispered words that could potentially reveal him to the Holy See, and have him thrown into Witchdrop to be judged untrue by The Fury.
To prevent this eventuation, and anymore shame on his House's name, for merely existing, Venoix changed his name to Eltaire Tryst, and set off under the guise of an Adventurer, to see the world. Little did he know that he had the power of the Echo, and the rare ability to communicate with the Crystal of Light.
His surname serves as a reminder of the way he was conceived, and is almost a tarnish against the religious nature of the lands of Ishgard.
