Grandson of the legendary paladin of Vana'diel, Sotama was once a member of Vanguards of Vana'diel - an elite taskforce sent on S ranked missions across the world. His father Roland, captain of the task force, was given a mission to help a nobleman investigate a hidden ancient city that was recently uncovered at the bottom of the nobleman's castle. Blinded by his duty, Roland with his son and squad members, went to investigate the ancient city only to find unspeakable horror surrounding the Dark-moon Crystal- a massive dark purple crystal in-casing a gigantic creature barely visible from the outside. The entire task force went mad as the dark energy from the crystal influenced them. With they're presence alone, they have mistakenly reawakened the evil that resided in it's crystal prison. Unleashing an ancient evil upon the world. Sotama was the only survivor that day and was unconscious for several months. By the time he had awoken, his granduncle, Renma, told him that his mother went off to a realm known as Eorzea. Her goal was to try to contain the creature back into a crystal stasis with her magic before the ancient evil could regain full strength. In seconds, Sotama packed his things and set out to the mysterious realm known as Eorzea in search for his mother but Fate would have so much more in store for our hero upon his arrival.....
