Valin Blaise has always walked in the shadow of his father, the Paladin Arius Blaise, believed to have been lost in the Battle of Carteneau. Now, Valin sets forth to write his own story. A tale that does not set him low in the darkness of his father's shadow, but one that he hopes will raise him above it.

An accomplished master of the axe, Valin Blaise has taken to the task of standing as a wall in defense of his friends both old and new. With the elder Blaise lost in action, it falls upon Valin to lead as the Storm Lord of the Free Company of The Oncoming Storm.

A man who prizes honour and trust among all things, he is willing to sacrifice it all for those he holds dear.
