Fun with tanks!

Tanking in this game is really fun and so different from any other game I have tanked before. I mostly play the DPS class with the long weapon, which is why I started playing Lancer. But when I started leveling my MDR to turn my Lancer into a Dragoon I felt in love with it and stuck to it, and I'm glad I did. Its nice when people compliment me on my tanking, even saying I'm the best tank they have ever had. Can't wait until I hit 50 and start tanking the end-game bosses. I'll see you all there!!!

I actually stumbled into tanking. I was more like 'Oooh, big axe! I'm sold!' and didn't realize I'd be the VIT tank until it was about time to hit Satasha. But with a friend along to explain boss fights to me, I'd say tanking as a MRD is pretty awesome.
I did the same thing. Got PUG up to 22, then ran my MDR up with my brother, ended up sticking with it, now its higher than my PUG lol. When I played FFXI, I was a PLD because tanks where needed, plus I always got a party in old FFXI days. I didn't want to be a tank in ARR, but its actually fun!

I started exactly the same way. Dragoon was my favorite class in FFXI so I started as lancer. Decided to give Marauder a try. I now have Warrior unlocked and not Dragoon lol.
I'm getting better at tanking. As a mrd/war you can use flash from gld but it doesn't seem as effective as just firing off overpower a couple of times.
I start with Flash when agroing 2-3 mobs just to lure them to me then spam Overpower... hence why I hate sleeps and some mages get mad when I wake up their CC'd mobs. I want to level a GLA to 24 to get Provoke thou. Its awesome to get back instantly if a mob is attacking your healer.
Really wasn't enjoying Gladiator as much as Marauder. But then again I only have it to 15
Yea, im not a sword and board tank. On Aion I loved tanking with my Gladiator even thou they are not supposed to be main tanks. MRD is pretty much the same thing but here they are main tanks and I loved that :D
Yeah, my Glad on Aion got neglected when I rage quit because the tweaks ganking me when I was trying to solo level. So I made a Ranger and a Sin tweak. Stopped playing when GW2 came out, and played a little SWTOR. Ive done a lil of everything, but never played WoW lol.
I played TERA and GW2 but never dropped Aion until now that FF14 came out. I couldnt find anything to do since 4.0 came out.
A good tank keeps the healer happy!
So, your opinion? Aion>FFXIV or Aion<FFXIV?
I don't think I can judge yet. I played Aion for 4 years, saw it evold from fantasy RPG to fashion show (which I don't mind, I love the new armors and costumes) and I really enjoyed it. We can say FF just came out and it needs to grow a lot. I hope it keeps me hooked the same way Aion did because I'm really loving it.
