What a massive update! Did anymore see the change log? It's huge.
I'll probably go to bed early tonight so I can wake up around the time the maintenance is over at 3am my time tomorrow.
Ah well, the MMO hardcore will do what must be done.

Indeed. After my class ends at 9:20pm, I'll be driving myself straight to bed. May consider skipping the part where I stop in the driveway and walk the rest of the way in. Much for me to look forward to. As for the 24 hours, it's hard for me to compare, as the closest I've played is Destiny, which it's yearly expansions only needed 12 hours at most.

Yea 12 hours is pretty long but not too bad. I have never seen maintenance time take 24 hours before in any game.

No, it always happens for a major patch. When Shadowbringers is about to be released it will be even longer. I think the game was down for Two days in preparation for the release of Stormblood.

The last two days were when the US Data Centers was moved in preparation to StormBlood. I suppose we will have a two days maintenance for the Data Centers split prior to ShadowBringers. For the 24h I remember one when they change more the server-side than the client. I suppose they prepare the server for the world visit feature and it is the reason the time is longer, but it is only a guess.
