OK, so i have been sitting here off and on all day trying to get in world (i know i know, i really should play the lottery if i wanted to have an actual chance of winning something) but anyway, i have been reading the forums, and there are a lot of bitches about 1017, 2002, crappy servers, and i think someone even blamed SE for world hunger. *shrugs*
Anyway, i read up on Yoshi's posts, and it says that if all goes well today, there will be a complete overhaul of all the servers, and everyone gets a free week of play after then *tosses cookies in the air and eats confetti* guess we should all celebrate, huh, we might actually be able to log in.
Oh, wait, I am on Balmung, and i have friends Faerie and Siren. We all got this game to play together. Now i have met some great people on Balmung, but i want to play with my friends. So after all these shiny new servers are in place, we get to what, all go to a new server together and create new characters? Pay for the server transfer service? This makes no sense. When me and my friends tried make characters on the others server, we couldnt. I had friends try and create toons on Balmung, the first day of EA, and couldn't.
So as much as i appreciate the hard work of all the Squenix Devs, i think there should be a system where current players could transfer free of charge to lower populated servers so they can actually do what this and most MMOs are designed for...To Play With Friends

They should allow a free server transfer, at least for a week after the new server are up and running, that way you and your friends could finally play together and people like me would be able of start playing in another, new server without losing all the progression with the characters. I hope SE does something like that.
