“Why the gods won’t help us fight this war?” Wenora Palometta asked her husband.
He smiled at her then shrugged. “Because we did this to ourselves, I guess. Why ask me this, you are the one that reads all those books?”
“I don’t want to fight anymore,” she replied sadly as she mindlessly flipped through the pages of her grimoire.
“But we have to or we will end up dead by tomorrow.” Giovon Tarutaru said. “Don’t worry I won’t leave you behind.”
She furrowed her brows and pursed her lips, glaring at her husband. “But you always do!” Recalling the times she had gotten lost after he had ridden so fast that she could not keep up.
He did not say anything more but merely grinned at her like a mischievous child up to no good.
