Born as a noblewoman, Ellair was hindered with a birth defect in her vocal cords, making her unable to speak outside of making sounds (Whines, grunts, moans.)
Her father was outcasted due to moon traditions and became outraged, feeling betrayed by Ellair's mother before killing her in a rage and would have killed Ellair had her grandmother not intervined and drove him off.
Ellair's grandmother was a former warrior and the first in the aristocracy of the Amrizu estate, having been a powerful gladiator in her youth, leading her to take in Ellair and safeguard her from further harm, but would publicly claim that Ellair had lost right to her family estate. This was of course to protect her as Ellair grew up and would eventually seek to travel, despite her handicap. It was through grandmother that she was inducted into the gladiators guild and eventually found her way into becoming a free Paladin, where she now travels the lands, assisting those in need and punishing those unjust.
