Faolan Rionnag'teine is from the city Ishgard in the snowfields of Coerthas within the northern Aldernard. Before the Calamity, he lived a simple life as a hunter and a tracker.

When the Calamity hit and devastated the land, he was out hunting and was severely injured by the destructions of Bahamut. He was literally dead when he was found by members of his village.

His family prayed to the folklore of the North Star and the Sentient Dragons to which they granted Faolan a second chance at life. The condition was that they would procure him with the eyes of truth. One eye would be turned silver, to honor the element of Ice and the Ice Dragon. The other eye would be colored red for the element of Fire and the Fire Dragon. His duty was to gain in power and knowledge under the skill of the Thaumaturge. Then, once he has gained enough strength and knowledge, he must try to convince the people of Aldernard that the dragons are not evil.

The Aldernard kingdom is a theocracy run by an arch bishop. They are also in constant battle with their mortal enemies, the dragons to which Faolan's family made the pact for his second chance at life. Once the kingdom found out about the traitorous act, Faolan was exiled and his family was placed under strict lockdown.

What the kingdom didn't know was that dragons were infuriated that the people had stripped and destroyed their lands. The Sentients took it upon themselves to cleanse the earth with fire and begin life anew. Those that remained, had to prove their worth to Nature...

Will Faolan be able to strengthen and grant the dragons' request? Will he be able to save himself and his family and restore their Ishgardian name?
