After surviving the swelling waves from Leviathan, Gaius sought revenge for the family he lost. After traveling alone for a long while, he encountered Pomp'h, and the two began their misadventures. With Eorzea safe, a slew of primals defeated, and awakening to the powers of the Warrior of Light, Gaius' life and new found family had changed him for the better.

But fate can be cruel. After helping the Doman refugees settle in Ul'dah, the aether crystals stolen have been located as Y'shtola confirms that the Sahagin have the means and the will to summon forth Leviathan. With unyielding rage and a steeled resolve, Gaius plans stopped the rising tides, but to the cost of his warrior soul crystal.

After the assassination on the Sultana, Gaias and Pomp'h sought shelter in Ishgard, and where granted protection under House Fortemps. Weakened and staggered from the recent events, the two explore the city, and while Pomp'h finds delectable pastries, Gaias finds a dead body. This body Then grants him and teaches him the way of the Dark Knight, making him confront his darker emotions and wants.

With his meeting with Sidurgu and learning of his and Frey's mission, the two discover exactly what the temple knights seek to kill Rielle, learning of her draconic bloodline and unveiling further hypocrisy from the Ishgardian Knights. With the conspiracy uncovered, what will become of the two's mission?
