In Baelsar's Wall, the DRG has no idea of their rotations, DoTs are practically non-existent and Blood of the Dragon barely appears. And when it appears, it disappears just as it expires - I wonder if they know they can keep it up? If they know their basic rotations? After a brief "idk", and a polite request to please learn their basic rotations, it turns out they didn't finish their job quests so they don't even have all their skills yet.
This is Baelsar's Wall, in case you've forgotten, the last one of the lv60 dungeons.
Somehow we manage to reach the Griffin, but by his second Lionshead move, which he usually dies shortly after, he's at 59% of his health. We could go on, except the SCH dies, so of course we don't survive. Oh well. Let's try again. SCH dies in restraint collar, as much as I try, I can't destroy that thing on my own fast enough, which is what happened (I'm just a MCH, only out-aggroing the SCH and the DRG, according to those little bars in the party list). Oh well. Let's try again. This time, SCH dies once more in what I think was Sanguine Blood.
After this, I try a Vote Abandon, because it's quite hopeless as it is. It gets rejected, and when I remark that we're wasting time - I'm the one who's dismissed from the duty with about 36m remaining time. If I have to guess, by that lovely healer+tank couple (a couple, judging by their names), but then again, all three of them had their little flowers next to their names.
I mean, I'm not even mad, I'm simply baffled. I don't expect every random person to perform at 110% all the time, heck I don't even expect 90%. But when you're basically doing your lv50 rotations in the last lv60 dungeon? Sorry, but you're wasting other people's time. And it's not those other people you should remove from the duty when they actually notice that. Grab some FC mates or LS friends, get a PF - and feel free to enter the duty like that when you have people with you who are actually ok with it. There's not being good at something, and then there's not even being up to par to something, you know. At the very least let the randoms know about your situation if you do have the audacity to go the DF way like this, and don't abuse that vote kick just because you can when someone actually points these things out - is it annoying to hear it? Yeah, I can believe that. That's actually just how annoying it is to be on the other side of this.
But hey. At least we're getting jump potions too now.

Man I can actually level with you on this, honestly I don't see how people can defend that type of player's choice. You're basically doing 3.5 content without even doing the more important part, your job quests. I'm surprised he got through Nidhogg in those conditions, and if the tank was also attacking the chain and the healer still died..it really was hopeless.
Though I'm probably gonna sound like an rude person for agreeing with you, but I can't tolerate those things.
I understand your feeling because I was tanking Sohm Al HM, and I had a DRG that didn't pop Blood of the dragon, when I asked him why he said "that rotation is too annoying to keep up." He didn't even use it on the bosses, and not once did he pop Battle Litany. Fortunately we didn't wipe but it was a slow run, but what baffles me the most is he can get his relic up to 260 but can't do his rotation.
I was basically seeing a level 50 rotation.
I don't know about dragoon's rotation at all. But I understand the feeling.
There are two cases in my opinion:
- people too lazy to do something. I don't like those ones.
- casual gamers that don't invest that much time in the game, they don't look at every internet pages about their jobs and just do what they can with what they learn by themselves. I think I can live with those ones at the moment they accept some advices here and there to improve their play.
My Black mage still does his level 50 aoe rotation.
Could work with if you had a battle res. #SMNlife
Smn's are just wannabe blackmages that dropped out of flare school cause they couldn't make it!
Now they're stuck having to use primals for power...sound familiar?!
Villains. That's what summoners are. *Nods*
Perhaps they were just griefing you. Some people just like to waste the time of others.
@rakar we have more flare abilities then blm. Lol! Pain flare dear flare shadow flare and our lb Tera flare ;3 blm aspires to reach our aoe burst!
....we also have a battle res :3
Summoner is the ascian job though
Death* yes... Dear flare, the most well written flare of them all! Graceful with a hint of mint at the end because well why not!?
Just wait till Friday for the orgy of flaregasms! You may have battle rez, but us blackmages have a teleport!
BAM!
DONE.
WE WIN.
Children children, you're both terrible as the true aoe job is DRK. We have dark magics that can Rez but we're agile and look nice as we do.
@rakar whaaaaaat?! That's it! Job quitting! Red Mage all the way! Muhaha
Hey, SMN is my main on my other char. BOOK CLUB FTW! (And BLM. All-around mage, really.) :3
@Yoru: No need to read every internet site. I don't either. The little tooltips of every skill, and the indicators supply more than enough information for a basic rotation, however casual one is.
@Rakar: BLM AoE can be and is actually still viable in most dungeons (especially MSQ). But start spewing simple Fires in AF3, instead of Eno and F4 (and Ley) - I doubt people will be grateful. :/
And @Shira - I don't think you're rude. As I said myself, I never expect peak performance in DFs (nowhere near, really)... But when one doesn't even have 3.0 skills in a 3.5 duty? If they can't even be bothered to take a look at the actual in-game help and cues? In my opinion, that's really the bare minimum of efforts everyone should expect from everyone else. So yeah, there's botching up, and then there's literally not giving a f××× at all... The latter shouldn't be tolerated, indeed.
It really shouldn't be tolerated, as it's just an annoyance to everyone else. Imagine a healer without all her job skills? I just hope we don't see this in SB, but my realistic side says they'll be a few rare encounters.
Just need to get a back brace. Because you'll have to carry the lazy bums through the finish line these days
Don't worry, I don't use fire1.
I'm a thunder/ice mage!
Thunder 3, blizz 3, blizz 4 x3, freeze, repeat.
*Nods
People would rather be "nice" by not saying anything, rather than being "rude" by pointing out what's going wrong or can be done better.
I was in a Dusk Vigil run, and even though I did a big pull, the healer had all of her MP by the time I was dead, and that's after I popped all of my CDs to survive cause she only threw like 3 heals at me...
And yet I was the one who got blamed.
Odd, I did get yelled at for telling someone they killed the group in weeping city yesterday.
I did explain and then explained to entire raid how to handle stones because... that happens..
I'm sorry but if you don't know stone placement by now then stay out yus yus...
Back or to the left...
Back or to the left...
Jump off for buff...
I was once in a vault with an ast who was looking for their first clear. He did fine with the healing aspect, no complaints there. What WAS frustrating was his total inability to dodge anything. We only saw the marching knights twice as he was killed by the first floor puddles nearly every time. I really tried to help him as best I could. But he just continued to stand on the edge of the arena and run into all the things. I patiently explained things but after 45 min on the last fight I bailed.
I don't blame you, a person's inability to do something as simple as dodging, even when you explain aren't worth wasting your time for. At the end of the day, you shouldn't stress yourself further in those situations as it just isn't worth it.
I really really tried to get them a clear but if the healer dies off the bat there is nothing that we can do to carry them.
Can't help everyone, especially with personal problems consisting of dodging. I feel we'll see those in SB as well.

This is the kind of game one needs to take at least a little seriously. Because you can literally make it hell for other players thinking it's a individual game. And if you get your job skill up, the game is way more fun!!.
Word of the week FLAREGASM-FELLCLEAVE...x6!!

Pretty much. If you have a "you don't pay my sub, I play however I want" mentality, you're ignoring the fact that there's 3/7/23 more people in your party and you're being an asshat... or as someone recently called me on facebook for calling them out on their lack of reading skills: a tool.
How odd. Last time and place I pointed out the fact that this is an online game, where everyone's playing together with everyone else, and explained how this means that one can only be an "individual" within certain limits...... I was called all sorts of names and pretty much sent to hell. Glad to see there are more sensible people around here. o.o
Thanks all. /brofist

Anyone who tells you otherwise gets one as well... to the face.
Hey. And now in Expert again, with a BRD that didn't have WM on, and only used Foe's Requiem when the last boss was down to about 20% (I went as BLM). Asked if they're much excited for SB and they answered yes... Doubt they got the hint.
