History of Impulse DriveFinal Fantasy XIImpulseDrive was the first formed in 2003 on the Valefor world in Final Fantasy XI as a social linkshell to help friends communicate while leveling up various jobs. In late 2003 a vote was held to make the linkshell exclusive and move to endgame content.
This would lead to four years of endless end game events and two of those years would see ImpulseDrive defeat nearly every major end game notorious monster without a single wipe. This would include multiple runs on the following enemies. Aspidochelone, Byakko, Cerberus, Fafnir, Genbu, Hydra, Jailer of Hope, Jailer of Love, Khimaira, King Behemoth, King Vinegarroon, Kirin, Omega, Seiryu, Serket, Suzaku, Timat, Ultima, and Vrtra.
The streak ended when an unexpected Absolute Virtue pop defeated the the linkshell in a matter of minutes. After the loss we recovered and started a new streak that lasted until ImpulseDrive came to an end in late 2008.
Final Fantasy XIVImpulse Drive moved to Eorzea in 2010 on the Trabia world in Final Fantasy XIV as a social linkshell. In early 2012 Trabia merged with Kashuan to form the Hyperion server and allowed Impulse Drive to once again evolve in to an endgame linkshell that lasted all the way up until late 2012 when the servers went down for Final Fantasy XIV.
In the year before the servers shut down for good we quickly dispatched all of the available end game content including all open world enemies Atomos, Dodore, Elder Mosshorn, Great Buffalo, Haughtpox Bloatbelly, Uraeus, and Vanguard H-1. We have also completed speed runs in all major end game raids Aurum Vale, Cutter's Cry, Dzemael Darkhold, Primal Garuda, Primal Ifrit, and Primal Moogle.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm RebornImpulse Drive is already off to a great start in the reborn Eorzea. We have defeated Relic Chimera, Relic Hydra, Primal Ifrit, Primal Garuda, Primal Titan and currently working our way through The Binding Coil of Bahamut.
We are currently seeking new recruits for all classes and jobs with the intent to build a great home for great players.
