December Moon, miqo’te born by miqo’te father and human mother; his birth fell on the sixth Umbral Moon under protection of Azeyma, guardian of the sun and of the inquery.
The name December stems from a childhood tale of her mother which tells of a world where the magic was forgotten, but each year, on the 25th of December, that correspond in fact with December’s birthday: the 25th of the sixth Umbral Moon, magic came back to live for a night.
The Father, native of Ul'dah, and the mother, native of Limsa Lominsa met during a Great Dragon Hunt in the kingdom of Ishgard, from which they were hired, and from this encounter the little December was born in Ul’Dah, hometown of his father.

The parents, because of their contracts, were not very present in Ul'dah for raising her daughter, in fact they met every each moon, while the little December was raised in an orphanage in Ul’Dah and under the supervision of Momodi, a family friend as well as the owner of the Quicksand, The Adventurers Guild of the city.

December used to chronicle her parents deeds with a lot of emphasis, that all the children of the orphanage used to being amazed by her stories.
December’s dream was to emulate the parents also become a Dragoon to fight alongside them.
The day of the end of the Great War against the Garlean Empire, December received sad news: her parents were given to deceased and their bodies were never found.

Five years after this sad happening, December reached the age of majority and decided to leave Ul'dah leaded to Gridania along with Toto, his Chocobo, as well as her father and mother’s Chocobo offspring, respectively, Choco and Boco.
Her goal was to become a Dragoon following her parent’s footsteps and so she decided to join the Lancers guild.
On the way for Gridania, however, an event happened in the Black Shroud: she met a little moogle in trouble: he was attacked by some monsters but December saved his life and by doing this she discovered her innate magical power: she was able to cast "Blizzard" saving in fact the moogle that said those exact words: "The ether is strong in you, young Mage, we’ll meet soon, kupò!." she was amazed of her own talents and decided to go back to Ul'dah to fully understand it.
During the fight, however, Toto disappeared and December was forced to return in a freight and people carring wagon that traveled frequently between the capitals of the Eorzea Alliance.

December then returned to her hometown, she enrolled at the Ul’Dah Academy of Taumaturges to become a Black Mage but in her heart there’s still room for a spear, but this was only the beginning of her great adventure.
