Adopted by Elezen of the Fanel family at a young age, his given name is actually Vhaan, but it's too much trouble to correct every person who sees a Sun and automatically adds ' to his name.

If asked, he would like people to believe that the scar over his right eye is from some epic grand battle, but it's actually the result of a stupid stunt in the chocobo stables when he was a kid.

Recent events have had a lasting effect. His scars have been washed away, but no amount of dye will put color in his hair, nor sun will tan his skin.
