I think SE should remove Hunts while they go back to the drawing board with them or something. I personally don't mind how they're implemented, but it's brought out the absolute worst in people and I'm getting tired of it.
Whichever zone has the weekly hunt in it is full of huge trains of people and the /shout chat is always unbearable, and all the other zones are filled with people whining because someone didn't wait 5 minutes for them to run across a zone to kill a B-rank. Why should they wait? They did the work and found it while you sat in town.
I've run across two or three B-rank hunts while doing other things and I'll announce in shout when I do, but I only wait til 3-4 people show up so we can kill it in a reasonable fashion, and you wouldn't believe the vitriol I get sent my way for it. I've been harassed in tells, been told I'd be blacklisted by half a dozen people, even reported if people are to be believed.
Seriously, hunts in their current form suck.

I've mostly done Hunts that were sitting on a Logging Point I wanted. I'll change, kill it, then get back to what I was doing. It may peeve others, but I don't really care. I'm paying the same subscription fee they are and their Hunt is in my way, so I removed it. Problem solved :3
Bleh no kidding... When they announced it I was hoping for something working similar to mapsor at least fates so they would scale. Fighting the players more then the content with this. Also Sarg got Naul 2 weeks in a row for the weekly hunt -_- Coerthas is the worst area ever for random spawn locations
And before anyone screams about Stealth, I'm not going to Stealth in a lv30 area on the off chance something lv50 spawns on top of a Logging Point. That's dumb. I've had to run for my life too many times already because of this, so my patience with "Why didn't you wait 10 minutes >:O" whining is non-existent.
Yeah hunts are bad the way they are now.
hunts area terrible feature and have brought out the absolute worst in the community. very badly designed, implemented, very little reward and put one of the most sought-after items in the game behind them.
Solution: Buy oils and sands with soldiery as most people doing them are doing them for these items or greatly beef up the seals acquired from daily hunts (does anyone do them anyway?) so that there is less congestion on the A and S rank hunts. So simple SE, so simple...
Or they could keep it the way it was and just make them accessible from Coil. Yeah I like that.
They also used to have it where you could buy the same ilv gear as dropped in coil. Equivalent to buying ilv 110 with soldiery i.e. buying oil and sands with soldiery. Yes, let's keep it the way it was! Let them eat Oil and Sand!
Yeah their endgame gear is really weird. I guess I understand not everyone wants to raid so they want to cater to the people who don't. But honestly if you don't want to raid then what's the point of having the best gear to begin with?
they should have been a cross between the hunting log, treasure maps and the sightseeing log. could have even added a crafting factor in there.
Contrary wise, what is the point of getting the best gear as an award from raiding? If you can already beat it, why do you need better? This is an issue if a lot of RPGs. Go through the hardest content for the ultimate item and never really need it.
To make it easier, I guess. It's not like single player RPGs where you just go through stuff once. Or now I guess you need to get all the best gear so that you can still get your ass kicked in savage coil.

I have mine as postman because of the moogle thing.
i am super unlucky with hunts. Only have 17 seals to my name after several hours work. And now...i can't even make it to the mark before it is dead. By the time it is called out in shout it's too late. Four times i was almost to the point where the monster would have popped into my field of vision and it died. FOUR TIMES...and i was only yards away. Sick of this...
It sucks to see all my friends getting these acheivements for defeating B-S ranks and bragging about how many seals they have when no matter what i do, I can only get 1 measly seal per mob if im lucky and it isn't dead before i get there.
Someone bragging about hunts is the same as winning the special olympics.
Maybe if we had different ones... they spawned more often... had more hp... didn't have to be in a party to get credit... once you got your weekly, you were done until the next one...

"I'll blacklist who ever pulls early" go ahead blacklist me i wouldn't want to run a instance with a whiner anyway "i'll fill a complaint report ion who ever pulls early" really wth do you think it will do there is no set time to pull hunts so go ahead a file a false report and get yourself in trouble with SE
b class hunts i wait for my party only (unless there is another person there with me not in my party then i will wait for theres too)
a class hunts we give roughly 8 min from first shout then we pull
s class we give at min 12 min longer if needed (you know if you have enough people when people start complaining they cant see the mark ..lmao )
look at this way hunts will die down in a week or two as people get their mains to i110 then they will be back to reg content and instances.. till then laugh the bs off if you make it to a hunt good if not same it will respawn a's and b's respawn fairly fast s class you have plenty of time to get to even if pulled a lil early..
My FC leader almost quit yesterday, but he only ended up quitting a LS he made way before hunts because of "people showing their true colors".
There is one thing you mention I completely agree on, people who didn't take their time to find a hunt, especially a B, shouldn't get angry or demand someone else wait. It's their work, it's their discovery, they get the rewards.
But I'd also apply that As and Ss, but in a different way: if you expect to get full credit from The Hunt without even teying, it's not the content for you. I see many people whining about not getting full credit, but they never help with finding the marks. I've spent a lot of gil teleporting to help others find the As, and we got many Ss yesterday as well
yea S's were spawning good last night we dropped 3 and about 12 A's (maybe a few more) was an epic night of hunting..
Wrote a blog on how they can fix the hunt cause it is a nice addition to the game. Maybe they should cap the number of people who r able to participate. Once a set number is achieved no one else can join? Or my suggestion by locking the hunt to one a day, if you did one you can't do another for that day.
If they did one a day though then everyone would get it on the first hunt except for those 3 people that don't make it and blacklist everyone and then they won't be able to get theirs because the thing has a million and a half hp.

Last night I was waiting for for a two seal fate mark in the natalan territories in coerthas. While waiting, the B class mark, laun spawned right in front of me. I tried to soloed it by myself as a summoner and by using my level 10 chocobo. I managed to get down to 50% before I was overwhelmed by mobs and retreated. My point, depending where B class spawn, you might need at least 2 players to bring it down. Why would a mark spawn in such an area?
Hunts are just glorified FATEs, only without a FATE marker so you have to go in blind. For a game that was trying to avoid the common cliches of MMORPGs, it just fell into them with their eyes closed.
The game is already dead because of The Hunt. People do not play the game as intended anymore. Most of my guild quit. I'm short to do the same. It's not fun anymore.
The Duty Finder queues quadrupled since the Zerg started crawling over Eorzea. Party Finder groups have gotten really rare apart from HUNT!!1 groups...
Even if you hate the hunt, you're forced to do it because nothing else is played anymore.
The game sucks now.
Thanks for destroying the best MMORPG out there square-enix. You bring the term "dumbing down" on a whole different level than anyone else before you.

My way of hunting seems to work. First, if the mark is B rank I yell, wait 30 seconds, and I make first strike. A ranks, I tell my FC first, wait 1 minute for members and then attack. If members are busy, yell, wait 1 minute and attack. S ranks, I tell fc and form parties first, then yell. wait till enough people show up and let it fly.

Since I don't speak or write Japanese, most of the players that show up, emote me with thumbs up or bows after the hunt is over. It's all good :-)
