Ashenra Ardour

Ashenra arrives via airship in Limsa Lominsa having just fled the destruction of his home village at the hands of the Garlean Empire. Clutched to his chest he holds the weathered grimoire that belonged to his mother. Visions of Zenos standing over the corpses of his family and friends blinded him with tears and he collapses to his knees. He tentatively touches the scar across his right eye and flinches.. "Why did he spare me?" he wonders in despair..

Ashenra's experiences have cemented deep in his psyche an insatiable lust for vengeance against the Garlean heir who obliterated life as he knew it and he will stop at nothing to achieve the power to defeat him.

Having arrived in Eorzia, being chosen by Hydaelyn and becoming a Warrior of Light, He begins to learn about this new land and its magical history. He becomes acquainted with the Arcanist guild and becomes a summoner in order to harness the power of the Primals that wreck havoc upon the land. All this in the pursuit of the power to one day slay Zenos yae Galvus. The man who murdered his family.

Along the way he forms relationships with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and begins to realize that perhaps the world isn't as cruel and unyielding as he was lead to believe.. Slowly he warms up to his comrades. Slowly he begins to aid their cause, not to satisfy his selfish lust for vengeance.. but to protect a land he's growing fond of, and a people who have welcomed his with open arms.

Having cleared Ramuh's trial, Ashenra ponders the wise Primals words:
"Whence sprung this calamitous seed? In the begginning, no such duality existed. Were light and dark given form when man was born? it would explain much. Not least why strife and sorrow follow ever in thy wake. Thou canst not deny the urgings of thine own nature"

"Do we have it all wrong? should there not be balance between light and dark...?"
